This was our ninth breakfast meeting, and another at maximum capacity, with over 100 people in attendance. Thank you to CATCH who not only hosted the event, but sponsored it as well. CATCH are one of our founding members and have been a continual source of guidance and inspiration for our colleagues and the young people we serve. The event’s presentations came from award winning music artist and Come Outside founder Graft, and Wellspring Academy Trust Chief Education Officer Dave Whitaker.

Graft shared his personal experience of growing up in the city of Leeds, and the ways in which our organisations can shape and guide the next generation of leaders. He also shared an update on a new community project he has founded: Come Outside. The project runs a weekly 5km social walk/run at Oakwood Clock, every Saturday at 9am.

Dave Whitaker spoke about Unconditional Positive Regard, and what it means to implement different core elements of relational practice into behaviour and curriculum strategies in school. Dave has extensive experience with relational behaviour management and shared valuable insights.

These fascinating talks are available to watch on the LLA Members’ Zone.

Jamie Jones-Buchanan MBE, former professional rugby league player and LLA Ambassador held a tour at the end of the event for any guests who wanted to find out more about the fantastic facility at Headingley and the work being done by the Leeds Rhinos Foundation.
